Paediatric Occupational Therapy in Robina, Gold Coast

Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need for everyday life: playing, learning, dressing, eating, writing and getting along with others. Our paediatric OTs work with babies, children and teens at our Robina clinic, using play-based, neuro-affirming therapy that fits your child and your family.

How occupational therapy can help

  • Sensory processing and regulation (feeling "just right" to learn and play)
  • Fine motor skills: handwriting, scissors, buttons, cutlery
  • Gross motor skills, coordination and body awareness
  • Self-care: dressing, toileting, eating and sleep routines
  • School readiness, attention and participation in class
  • Emotional regulation and coping with change
  • Early development and infant milestones

Who we support

Children and young people aged 0–18 (and some young adults), including those with autism, ADHD, PDA, developmental delay, sensory processing differences, FASD, trauma-related needs, and neurological or genetic conditions. A diagnosis is not needed to start.

Assessments

Our OTs provide developmental, sensory and functional assessments, including the Sensory Profile 2, ADOS-2, NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments and assistive technology assessments. Reports are written to support NDIS plans, schools and other professionals.

We also offer school observations and consultations, individual sessions and small group programs.

Our occupational therapists

  • Monique Davies: neurodevelopmental and functional assessments, DIR and FCD trained
  • Sofia Moore: infant and early childhood development, early intervention
  • Chloe Downes: sensory processing, school readiness, educator training

Our OTs work alongside our speech pathologists, physiotherapist and NeuroGrowth team, so your child's goals are joined up.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral for occupational therapy? No. Parents can contact us directly. A GP or paediatrician referral is welcome but not required.

Can I use NDIS funding for OT? Yes, if your NDIS plan is self-managed or plan-managed. We also see private clients. Medicare (with a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan) and private health insurance may help with some costs.

What age do you see? From babies to 18 years, and some young adults.

Do you offer telehealth? Most sessions are in our Robina clinic, which we find works best for children. Telehealth is available in some situations, so just ask.

What happens in a session? Sessions are play-based and set up around your child's goals. Parents are involved and leave with ideas to use at home.
